Late in her mother's car accident she had a car accident while retired in California. She had kept herself in top physical condition with yoga and fitness all her life ( hit by a car-giver),  but after this accident she was bedridden and couldn't even communicate.

Keller/ Kim- paranoid schizophrenic is the sixties; fairly easy to go undetected. She said that her brother was probably one of the biggest influences (negative) on her life. This guy was highly intelligent, very verbal and manipulative- could always get his way. Throughout her life, Kim saw these traits in other men and sometimes fell into the same 'script' that she used with her brother.

After meeting Courtney Love in 1990, Gordon recognized a possible similar borderline personality disorder from which her brother Keller suffers. “No one ever questions the disorder behind her tarantula LA glamour – sociopathy, narcissism – because it’s good rock and roll, good entertainment! I have a low tolerance for manipulative, egomaniacal behavior, and usually have to remind myself that the person might be mentally ill.”

When Kim Gordon first moved to NYC in the 70's an insurance payout of $10,000 after a car accident enabled Gordon to live in New York, where she encountered an artworld of era-defining names including Jean-Michel Basquiat, Brice Marden, Cindy Sherman (whose apartment she first stayed at), David Salle, Jeff Koons (“No-one liked Jeff”), Barbara Kruger, Richard Prince and the burgeoning No Wave music scene.

Moved with Thurston Moore and Coco to Northampton, Mass in 1999. Big old house, but the community was kind of hip. "What have you got planned for the rest of the day"?, "Well, I think I'll go to the gym".  "Sounds good....I've got to do a telephone interview with Yoko Ono".

She produced Hole's first album, LIVE THROUGH THIS. I loved this record and I would never, in a million years associate Kim Gordon with anything to do with it, but whatever she did, it was magic.

Eva Prinz is the young woman (20 yrs younger than Thurston) that broke up the marriage. She had been involved with Jim O'Rourke (Wilco) when he played with Sonic Youth. When O'Rourke was in SY it allowed Kim to play guitar and sing more.
